Luke 18:16-17 Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these. Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”

Jesus and the Children for Little Kids
This map shows the land of Israel when Jesus ministered and the little children came to him! Jesus had been preaching and traveling through Galilee and there were many people following him wherever he went. He left Galilee, crossed the Jordan River, and entered the region of Judea. When he got there he healed the sick and answered questions that the Pharisees asked him.
After doing those things the Bible says that people brought their little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on and pray for them. The disciples were trying to help Jesus travel to the next city, so they told the children and their parents to leave Jesus alone.
At that moment something beautiful happened–Jesus told his disciples to let the children come to him because the kingdom of heaven belongs to those like them! Then Jesus took the time to place his hands on the children before continuing his journey.
Isn’t it special that Jesus would take the time to be with little children just like you? Next time you’re sad, remember that you can always pray to God because He always wants you to come to Him. And after your prayer, imagine how much fun it will be to play with Jesus in Heaven someday! We hope that thought makes you as happy as it makes us!
Matthew 18:10 – Jesus said, “See that you don’t despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”
The study of Jesus blessing the little children is very important in the study of the Bible, let’s pray:
Dear Jesus, thank you for coming to this earth to show us how much you love us and also to teach us the wonderful truth about children, that we must become like them to enter your kingdom. Their innocence and acceptance of others, their trust and love is so apparent. Help us to be more like children and to trust you in everything. In Jesus name… Amen!
